![]() If you resize the frame, the fitting option is automatically reapplied only if Auto-Fit is selected. ![]() This is a pretty small change as you might see The fitting action is applied only when content is placed into a frame. When it comes to InDesign versions CS3 and CS4, there is a feature to resize images and frames simultaneously. That means, it will either add a blank space or crop the image instead of resizing the original image. The good news is there are a number of ways to change frame shapes in InDesign once you have created them, without having to go through the whole creation process again If you drag a frame handle, you will notice that it will resize the frame. One question I am sometimes asked is once you have created a frame in InDesign, can you change the frame shape without recreating it from scratch. Then, hold the Shift key and drag on the frame's corner handles to make everything (image and frame) smaller or larger. When you click on this tab, you see an interface that allows the frame to resize smaller or larger as text is removed or added Resizing an Image and Frame Simultaneously Click on the frame with the Selection tool, and then check the box for Auto-Fit in InDesign's Control Panel. InDesign CS6 solves this problem by adding another tab to the Text Frame Options dialog (Object > Text Frame Options) called Auto Size. If you used any InDesign version up to and including CS2, you knew that in order to resize a graphic frame and the image it contained, you had to begin dragging one of the frame's handles and hold. ![]() If this fails (what sometimes happen), select the frame, in the application bar (control bar at the top) check Autor-fit Suddenly, after the last update, when I go to resize an image on a page (on Mac) and I do the normal sequence of holding Command + clicking on the corner of the frame + holding Shift to maintain the proportion + dragging to resize - this does not act as expected Hold down the command key / ctrl key, wait 3 seconds and change frame. Basically you don't scale the frame you merely change it's dimensions directly I've used Indesign a lot and am pretty proficient in it. Click the frame, then grab a handle and move it to crop the internal contents without altering the size of the placed content. To resize proportionally, Shift-drag a corner handle of the frame Merely use the Selection Tool (black arrow). Select it with the Selection tool, and drag any frame handle to resize. Resize only the frame You can also resize just the frame-whether empty or filled with art. ![]()
